For 2011, the Infiniti EX35 again combines the 4-door convenience of a luxury sedan and the cargo area of an SUV – offering the sporty style and luxury that has become synonymous with Inspired Performance. Along with its sleek, sculpted, elegant skin, the EX emphasizes exhilarating driving performance, as provided by an advanced 297-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine and available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive.

2011 Infiniti EX35 Technology

2011 Infiniti G37 Convertible

Infiniti G35 NJ

The most recent G35 sedan was completely redesigned for 2007. Changes included a stiffer body structure, revised chassis tuning for better handling, a more powerful V6 engine and a more voluptuous take on the previous G’s styling. It was more or less the same size as the outgoing model, but the biggest improvement could be found inside, both ergonomically and aesthetically. Everything was better put together and materials were higher in quality. The 3.5-liter V6 engine produced 306 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters was standard, but a six-speed manual came with the 6MT trim. We’d seriously recommend against this transmission (especially on 2007 models) as it was incredibly difficult to drive smoothly.

The sedan was available in five trims: a base model, Journey, x (indicated all-wheel drive), Sport and Sport 6MT. Most Infiniti G35 sedans will be of the Journey variety, which added items like dual-zone automatic climate control and a six-CD changer. The Sport trims were geared toward enthusiasts and featured 18-inch wheels and tires, a limited-slip differential, sport seats and aggressive tuning for the car’s electronic stability system. A four-wheel active steering system was an option that’s exclusive to the Sport trims, although we weren’t fans of it.

Powertrains and Performance

The G35′s 3.5-liter V6 makes 306 hp and 268 pound-feet of torque. The G35x has all-wheel drive; all others are rear-drive. Most models will have a five-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control and downshift rev-matching. A six-speed manual transmission is exclusive to the Sport 6MT. All versions are blindingly fast — an automatic-equipped G35 we tested ran to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds and dispatched the quarter-mile in 13.9 seconds.

The 2009 G37 Coupe’s performance capabilities expand with the addition of the much anticipated G37x AWD model.  Also new for the Coupe is a 7-speed automatic transmission with Drive Sport (DS) Mode and Downshift Rev Matching.  The 2009 G37 Coupe is available in four models – G37, G37 Journey, G37S Sport 6MT and G37x AWD – each with standard 330-horsepower 3.7-liter VQ-series V6 with VVEL technology.

Among the 56 cars reviewed by the magazine, the Infiniti G coupe and sedan received glowing marks.  This is the fourth time Infiniti has won this award.  While the Infiniti G37 sedan has already available to NJ residents, the much anticipated release of the convertible will not be until the spring. 

The report by Car and Driver is expected to draw even higher levels of interest for the new convertible.  This is the first convertible in the Infiniti family of cars.  Circle Infiniti in West Long Branch, New Jersey has been selling the Infiniti name for many years.  General Sales Manager, Rich Seymour, said that the arrival of the convertible to the Infiniti family has generated an overwhelming response from New Jersey car shoppers.  “Our phone was ringing off the hook when Infiniti announced they would integrate a convertible into the G family.  It’s been busy ever since with pre-orders and requests for information.”

The new G37 sedan is graced with upgrades in many major areas, two key areas for consumers are the increase in horsepower and fuel efficiency.  The 3.5 liter V-6 has been replaced with a 3.7 liter from the G37 coupe, adding more horsepower to this highly dynamic auto.  The addition of a 7-speed automatic saves on gas consumption, bumping the G37 sedan up an extra mile or two on MPG.
